On Thursday 17.10.19, Year 5 went back in time to the Greek Era. They took part in a number of different fun activities inspired by the work they had done on the Ancient Greeks. Children were able to come to school dressed as characters from Ancient Greece and they all put in lots of effort into their costumes! Mrs Tiana and Miss Tolsma arrived as Goddesses and Miss Tourabaly arrived as Hades (God of the underworld), frightening stuff!
The children took part in wreath making, where they had to measure their heads with a strip of green card and cut and stick different types of leaves onto it. They even made one for their adults too! The children loved their homemade wreaths and some spent the rest of the day wearing theirs to make their Greek outfits even better. Later on, the children got stuck in being Greek Athletes and taking part in the Greek Olympics.
Overall, Greek day was a huge success. The children enjoyed their day and the all the different activities they were able to take part in. All the work produced was done to a really high standard and shows just how much the children knew about Ancient Greece and how much they enjoyed their topic this term. I’m sure we will all be talking about this day for a very long time!
A huge thank you to all our parents and carers who have supported our learning throughout this term.
